Signed, Sealed… But You Can Still Refuse Delivery
If you sign up for a life insurance policy and change your mind, the law allows you to back out. According to federal law you have ten days to change your mind and get your money back. Often called the "free look" provision, the goal of this law is to give you a chance to read the policy, think things over, and make sure without sales pressure that the policy is right for you.
And while you're at it you might decide to shop around a little bit more. So if you change your mind, exercise your rights and ask for your premium to be returned. It's your right because it's the law.
